But Abdul's spokesman, Jeff Ballard, denied that was under the influence of alcohol or on some kind of medication and said the U.S. performer never drank.

Ballard said the interview was one of the last in a string of question-and-answer sessions she had done over two hours on Thursday ahead of a new season of "American Idol," which debuting next week on the Fox network.

"She was exhausted. This was at the end of three days of press (interviews and appearances), and she has had cameras following her around for a reality TV show too," said Ballard, referring to a new documentary series about the star's life.

"It fits the Bravo mandate to show what's going on in the culture of the moment," said Bravo President Lauren Zalaznick.

The pop culture network has hits with "Project Runway" and "Top Chef," and announced Friday that the upcoming fifth season of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" will be its last. It makes a similar docu-series with comic Kathy Griffin, who mocks her life on "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List."

Besides showing the frenzy of life in Hollywood, "Hey Paula" will offer "an intimate glimpse at the real woman behind the headlines," Zalaznick said.

Bravo hasn't decided whether that will include mention of Corey Clark, the 2003 "American Idol" contestant who accused Abdul of coaching him and initiating an affair. Fox, a unit of News Corp., cleared Abdul of any wrongdoing.

Paula Abdul: Drinks for everybody!

I got an e-mail on Thursday about one of the mass interviews Paula Abdul did promoting "American Idol" - this one on KTVU. The e-mailer said Abdul looked drunk. I get these "tips" all the time and mostly they turn out to be nothing. Besides, on a good day, can ANYONE tell if Abdul is drunk, giddy or high? But then word started getting around that she faltered in more local markets and, well, someone finally got the tape. It comes from Seattle. "Judge" for yourself.

By the way, this makes Thursday's announcement that Abdul will get her own reality show on Bravo - which will follow her around, as reality shows tend to do - all the more interesting. Here's what Abdul said in a statement about her show: "This is a hectic time of my life." But "Hey Paula," will allow "all my fans see the other sides to me beyond what they see on American Idol."

American Idol Judge Paula Abdul Slurs Words, Disses Seattle

Not again. American idol judge Paula Abdul was on a Seattle television station earlier this week and the former Lakers' girl was struggling. While answering questions in an interview she was slurring her words and slamming Seattle and it is another You Tube moment for the singer.
