Virginia Tech killer last words

Virginia Tech killer last words

Virginia Tech killer's last words: I didn't have to do this

The gunman who killed 32 students at Virginia Polytechnic Institute offered a series of disturbing words and images in a package mailed to a US television network while he was in the middle of what became the deadliest massacre in US history.

The time came, and I did it. You forced me into a corner and gave me only one option. The decision was yours. Now you have blood on your hands, Cho Seung-Hui said in the video, never specifying who he was addressing in a rambling, 1,800-word text and a chilling video, part of which NBC broadcast on its nightly news programme.

Also included were a series of pictures of Cho, a 23-year-old South Korean student, showing him in menacing poses, pointing handguns at the camera. In others, he is holding a knife and a hammer.

NBC said the package's envelope showed it was mailed at 9:01 am Monday - nearly two hours after Cho began his rampage by killing two students at a college dorm. Thirty minutes after mailing the package, Cho opened fire on classrooms at Norris Hall, killing 30 more people.

Do you know what it's like to be tortured? Do you know what it's like to be humiliated, Cho says. I didn't have to do this.
